We are truly honoured by the scores attributed to our Amaroni and our Valpolicella Ripasso Podere Bertarole by Luca Maroni in the 2021 edition, fresh off the press, of his Yearbook of the Best Wines of Italy.
His “final comment” on Corteforte fills us with pride (English translation doesn’t compare with the poetry of his Italian original):
“The Amarone developed by Corteforte are splendid. True prodigies of the grape nature, technically transformed with great clarity into such majestic wines. Valpolicella Ripasso Podere Bertarole 2018 is also balsamic, with Amarone Vigneti di Osan 2012 which reveals persistence of spiced currant of endless ardor. Summarizing concentration that makes the vanilla cassis of Terre di San Zeno 2013 Amarone Classico a fruit licor with essential aroma power. The best is Amarone Dea Lualda 2013: not only amazing in concentration, but soft and with a still vivid fruit in its clear spicy mantle of aroma. Compliments”.
[Splendidi gli Amarone sviluppati da Corteforte. Veri prodigi della natura dell’uva, tecnicamente trasformati con gran nitore in sì maestosi vini. Balsamico anche il Valpolicella Ripasso Podere Bertarole 2018, con l’Amarone Vigneti di Osan 2012 che rivela persistenza di ribes speziato d’interminabile ardore. Concentrazione somma che rende il cassis vanigliato dell’Amarone Classico Terre di San Zeno 2013 un licor di frutto di essenziale potenza d’aroma. Il migliore è l’Amarone Dea Lualda 2013: non solo stupefacente in concentrazione, ma morbido e dal frutto ancor vivido nel suo limpido manto speziato d’aroma. Complimenti].
