The specification Riserva, according to the most recent disciplinary code, can now be given to an Amarone with a minimum aging period of four years, beginning as of the first November of the year of the harvest. The extract content of an Amarone Riserva cannot be less than 32 g/l.

All of the Amarone from Corteforte have the advantage of a much longer aging and refining period than required, as well as an extract content above the standard.

In order to produce Amarone strictly with the recognition of Riserva, Corteforte chose to re-request the certification and to apply this indication exclusively to the utmost top products of any particular year. Only in this way could we differentiate and truly demonstrate the luster of this selection. Determined by the strict selection of the top bunches; harvested at the perfect time of maturation and followed by an aging period of at least 36 months in the barrels, as well as an additional 12 months in our cellars.

  • Vineyard

    Southwestern exposure at an altitude of 150 to 300 meters, soil calcareous on basalt subsoil. Yield is limited to about 1.600 liters per hectare.

  • Grapes

    65% Corvina, Corvinone - 15% Rondinella - 5% Molinara - 15% other native grape varieties, as Pelara, Oseleta, Dindarella

  • Aging

    Steel tank 24 months. French oak barrel for 30 months. Bottle 18 months.

  • Analytical data

    Alcohol: 16,5% vol. - Total acidity: 5,60 g/l - pH: 3,70 - Dry extract: 40 g/l

  • Longevity from harvest

    15/20 years

  • Color

    Intense deep garnet red, with orange tinges.

  • Bouquet and tasting notes

    Spices and wild ripe fruit, sour cherry and raspberry jams which remain with their own full, velvety and warm aroma and taste.

    Room temperature in large crystal glasses to fully enhance its unique characteristics.

  • Suggested food pairings

    Red meats and game, aged and spicy cheeses. Ideal to sip after dinner.
