Amarone and Concentus, the new vintages

Here we are with the new wines, we have just bottled last week and the fresh temperature in Valpolicella did surely help us!

We bottled Concentus IGT Rosso Veronese (please note that the name changed and this red wine will not be anymore called Rosso delle Venezie). After an aging period of 10 months in French oak barrels, the wine expresses elegance and finesse. Velvety and round, it is very well balanced, between the fruitness and acidity of Corvina grape and the power and complexity of Sangiovese. Surely ageworthy.

We bottled also Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Terre di San Zeno 2008. After 24 months of small oak French barrels and some months in steel tanks. 2008 vintage is absolutely great. The summer was regular without being too hot and the Autumn even better: dry, warm and sunny.

The following drying period was correct. We started pressing a bit before than usual, on the 22nd of December. It exhibits the traditional Amarone character and flavor profile: rich, ample and complex, but versatile and very drinkable! It will be ready for November 2014. In the meantime, enjoy Summer!
